Did you know today is Love Your Pet Day? We know you love your pet every day, but if you haven’t done something extra special for your furry friend (or friends!) today then it’s time to check out our favorite ideas for pampering your pooch even more than usual.

1. Homemade Treats

Think about Grandma’s homemade chocolate chip cookies – they just don’t stack up against their store-bought cousins. Some would say it’s because you can taste the love baked right in! That’s why baking homemade treats for your pup is the perfect way to celebrate Love Your Pet Day.

2. Make His Space Special

Is your pup’s doggy bed looking a little worn out and ragged? A brand-new bed will make your pup feel like a prince again. If you think he’ll be happier sticking with the old one, try getting a little crafty and sewing patches over any rips and tears – we fully encourage using fun, doggy-themed patterned fabric!

If your home has a neglected corner or nook, consider turning it into a space dedicated solely to your pup. Your furry friend will feel super special having his own “room” in the house. Check it out and get more inspiration here!

3. Plan a Pup Stay-cation

But every once and awhile it’s nice to dedicate a day just to the two of you. And what better time to plan a pup stay-cation than Love Your Pet Day? We can’t think of one.

Here’s an example of a perfect pup stay-cation: Start the day off with a long walk or a trip to your pup’s favorite dog park. Spoil him with his favorite treats (maybe some you made yourself!) and give him a special doggy massage. Dine at restaurants with pup-friendly patios – some even have items for dogs on the menu, so do your research beforehand! And finish the day off watching the sun set with your best bud.
